Ireka sees corporate social responsibility (CSR) as an integral part of our business goals and undertakings. We take this on as a responsible organisation in order to further enhance value for all stakeholders be it shareholders, investors, customers, employees or the community at large.
The Group's CSR charter is summed up in its IREKA CARES initiative and the acronym "CARES" stands for:

These 5 different areas form the core elements of our CSR programme.
To kick-off IREKA CARES in 2010, we adopted The Lighthouse Children Welfare Home, a shelter home for children from underprivileged backgrounds, in June 2010. Building on our expertise as a contractor, developer and IT expert, we provided maintenance and refurbishment support to the Home, as well as IT support. Ireka staff across the Group spent time with the children from the Home on a range of organised activities throughout the year.
Progressing into its second year in 2011, IREKA CARES adopted Rumah Hope under the "ARTs" banner by organising a series of outreach activities in three key areas:

Living Skills: Cooking, Baking and Cross-stitching

Performing Arts: Dance, Drama and Singing lessons
IREKA CARES' third year has kicked off the adoption of Rumah Kanak-Kanak Angels, a home for 12 underprivileged children between 5 to 19 years old, under the RECREATION banner in three key areas:-

2013
Ireka supports fund raising event in aid of Malaysian AIDS Foundation and Yayasan Ihtimam Malaysia
April 2013: Ireka sponsored RM10,000 for ‘Malam Amal Tahajjud Cinta’ Charity Night by Malaysian AIDS Council in aid of Malaysian AIDS Foundation and Yayasan Ihtimam Malaysia. Proceeds from this event will be channelled to the advocacy, prevention, treatment, care and support for HIV/ AIDS programmes in Malaysia, and the setting up of a shelter home for women and children living with HIV in Kelantan.

Ireka donates to Kwong Ngai Lion Dance’s fund raising dinner
October 2012: Ireka contributes RM3,000 in conjunction with Kwong Ngai Lion Dance’s fund raising dinner. This dinner is to promote awareness towards the Chinese culture as well as to build rapport amongst the Chinese community.
Ireka supports Kwong Ngai Lion Dance in participation of the World Lion Dance Championship 2012
September 2012: Ireka sponsored RM30,000 worth of air tickets and lion dance equipment for Kwong Ngai Lion Dance in the World Lion Dance Championship 2012. This international competition served as a platform in promoting the Chinese culture, as well as to increase visibility for Malaysia as amongst the top performing lion dance association in the world arena.
Ireka supports The Edge-Bursa Malaysia KL Rat Race 2012
September 2012: Ireka’s participation in The Edge-Bursa Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Rat Race 2012 marks its fourth year in support of a charitable cause. Ireka was represented by Mr Chan Chee Kian, who clinched the first placing in the 1km CEO Race, and a team of 5 runners in the 4.5km Main Race (Mixed Category). The event raised a total of RM2.216 million from 80 companies, with the funds being channelled to 20 selected beneficiaries via Yayasan Bursa Malaysia.
Ireka donates to the underprivileged through New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd
July 2012: Ireka donated RM1,000 to the New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd, in aid of three young children suffering from multiple heart conditions and in need of medical funds for heart surgeries.
Ireka donates to Ray of Hope
July 2012: Ireka sponsored RM1,000 to Ray of Hope. This non-profit, non-religious social organisation brings hope and joy to people with learning disabilities regardless of races.
Ireka sponsors charity musical concert in support of Chempaka Stroke Rehabilitation Centre
June 2012: Ireka sponsored RM20,000 for Qi Ji Musical Concert 2012, in aid of Chempaka Stroke Rehabilitation Centre. The rehabilitation centre provides free medical consultations, services and medications as well as physiotherapy and acupuncture treatment to stroke patients.
Ireka supports Malaysia Association Help For The Poor Terminally Ill
June 2012: Ireka donated RM5,400 to Malaysia Association Help For The Poor Terminally Ill (Pertubuhan Membantu Pesakit Parah Miskin Malaysia), for purchase of three wheelchairs. The association supports poor and needy patients with basic medical needs, medical equipment and supplies.

Ireka sponsors musical production by the Young KL Singers
November 2011: Ireka sponsored RM1,000 for 'Together As One' musical production by Young KL Singers (YKLS), which honoured all faiths through music without any form of discrimination. With participation from people of various backgrounds, the concert celebrated Malaysia's cultural diversity and promoted understanding towards each other's beliefs and faith.
Ireka supports 'A Piece of Hope' fund raising drive
July 2011: Ireka donated RM3,000 to a mount-climbing fund raising drive, in aid of Persatuan Kanak-Kanak Istimewa Hulu Langat. This charity drive was initiated by a troupe of 200 mountain trekkers who conquered Mount Kinabalu, for a noble cause. Persatuan Kanak-Kanak Istimewa Hulu Langat is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation that runs a Training Centre for children with special needs. It also cares and offers shelter for children with physical and mental disabilities.
Ireka sponsors gala charity fashion event
July 2011: Ireka sponsored RM10,000 for 'A Charity Evening of Ultimate Italian Dream – SOGNO ITALIANO' which was organised by Malaysia Tatler and Italian Trade Commission. The event raised funds for Yayasan Nurul Yaqeen, PIBG-SMKPP, Muhammad Danish Naufal Shahrul Ridzwan; and Ng Chi Han. Yayasan Nurul Yaqeen runs the 'School in Hospital' project that funds school-going children who undergo long-term medical treatments, to continue with their studies in hospitals. Donation for PIBG-SMKPP will be used to build computer labs for poor students. Individuals Muhammad Danish and Ng Chi Han need immediate surgery for congenital heart defect and hole in the heart respectively.
Ireka supports Heartbeat Vietnam's 'Scar of Life' project
July 2011: Ireka donated USD5,000 to the 'Scar of Life' project by Heartbeat Vietnam to help children who are born with congenital heart diseases. Heartbeat Vietnam, under the VinaCapital Foundation, has saved over 2,200 children's lives and they also provide family grants for food, education, medical expenses, travel and continuing care grants. VinaCapital Foundation's mission is to empower the children and youth in Vietnam by providing opportunities for growth through health and education projects.
Ireka sponsors charity musical 'Buddy vs The Killer', in support of the Yayasan Tunku Naquiyuddin
May 2011: Ireka sponsored RM10,000 for the 'Buddy vs The Killer' Musical Charity Dinner by British Theatre Playhouse, to raise funds for its "Stop Dengue Mission" programme for schools. The programme will educate school children on ways they can play an active role in eradicating Dengue disease. Yayasan Tunku Naquiyuddin foundation is a trust fund established to provide educational assistance to underprivileged children.
Ireka supports Caring for the Future Malaysia to build children's home
April 2011: Ireka donated RM2,000 to Caring For the Future Malaysia (CCFM) for its fund to build a Children's Home in Papar, Sabah. The Home will provide a clean, self-sustainable and environmentally-friendly shelter for orphaned, abused, neglected and homeless children. Established in 2008, CCFM is a private, non-profit organisation that cares for children between ages 3 – 17 regardless of race, gender and religion.
Ireka lends a helping hand to victims of earthquake-tsunami in Japan, via Kiwanis
March 2011: Ireka supported Kiwanis One Day-Sendai Fund by donating RM5,000 to help alleviate sufferings of children in Sendai, Japan who were affected by the earthquake-tsunami disaster in March 2011. Kiwanis One Day, under the auspices of Kiwanis International, is an annual event for Kiwanis clubs and members in more than 90 countries worldwide to join hands in carrying out community service and demonstrate their care for children.

Ireka supports Kuala Lumpur Rotary Charity Foundation to establish children's home
December 2010: Ireka donated RM5,000 to Kuala Lumpur Rotary Charity Foundation via a fund-raising dinner organised by The Rotary Club of Kuala Lumpur Diraja (RC KL Diraja). Proceeds will go to the establishment of a new home for underprivileged and disabled children. RC KL Diraja is part of Rotary International, a worldwide volunteer organisation dedicated to serving the communities they live in.
Ireka supports IJN Foundation with a Heart
November 2010: Ireka donated RM3,500 to the Patient Welfare Fund of IJN Foundation to give needy heart patients a new lease in life. IJN Foundation is a non-profit organisation affiliated to Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) or National Heart Institute. It provides financial assistance to Malaysian heart patients who cannot afford their medical aid. IJN Foundation also strives to improve the state of Malaysian cardiac medicine by funding research and clinical trials, medical education and training.
Ireka supports education for underprivileged and disabled children via INTAZ
October 2010: Ireka donated RM10,000 to Institute Tengku Ampuan Afzan (INTAZ) via a Charity Gala Dinner held in conjunction with the 80th birthday celebration of KDYMM Sultan Pahang, Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah. Founded in 1995 by the late Tengku Ampuan Afzan of Pahang, INTAZ provides education for underprivileged and disabled children at five INTAZ centres in Pahang. INTAZ also hopes to build a new, well-equipped centre to better serve the needy.
Ireka supports the Pink Ribbon cause
October 2010: Ireka supported the Pink Ribbon cause by donating RM5,000 to the Breast Cancer Welfare Association (BCWA). BCWA's mission rests on the philosophy that a volunteer or a breast cancer survivor uses her experience to help another individual diagnosed with breast cancer. Besides providing emotional and social support and non-medical physical aids to individuals with breast cancer, BCWA also conducts public education programmes.
Ireka ‘Made a Difference' in Charity Century Ride
October 2010: Ireka's Group General Manager, Leonard Yee participated in the 'Make A Difference' (MAD) Charity Century Ride 2010 which flagged off from Tropicana Golf & Country Resort Kuala Lumpur and ended at Kluang, Johor. By completing the 360 km ride, Leonard has managed to raise RM85,000 from his family, friends, Ireka staff and management as well as business associates for various charities in Kuala Lumpur, Kluang and Vietnam.
Ireka’s supporters doubled in The Edge-Bursa Malaysia KL Rat Race 2010
August 2010: Ireka’s supporters troupe doubled this year in its second participation in The Edge-Bursa Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Rat Race, signifying the company’s unified commitment towards charity.
July 2010: Ireka donated RM3,000 to a mount-climbing fund raising drive, in aid of Yayasan Sunbeams Home. The charity drive was initiated by a troupe of 140 mountain trekkers who will be conquering Mount Kinabalu, for a noble cause.

Apr 2010: Ireka supported Charity Musical ‘Sparks of Broadway’, in aid of the Down Syndrome Association of Malaysia (Persatuan Sindrom Down Malaysia. PSDM). PSDM strives to enhance the quality of live for individuals with Down Syndrome and their family, through providing social welfare, health, education and employment.

January 2010: Ireka Corporation Berhad sponsored a total of RM9,250 to the Kwong Ngai Lion Dance Association which was channeled towards the props and collaterals required in their lion dance performances around the country.
Ireka supports SOULed Out, in aid of Rumah Nur Salam
January 2010: Ireka supported SOULed Out's Charity Campaign by purchasing its limited edition music compilation CDs, for a noble cause. Funds raised were channeled to Rumah Nur Salam, a Home which reaches out to 'at-risk' children under the age of 18 in the Chow Kit district of Kuala Lumpur.
Ireka sponsored tickets to the KL Children's Choir, 'Triple Bill'
December 2009: The Kuala Lumpur Children's Choir recently staged a production entitled Triple Bill on the 29th and 30th of November 2009 at the KL Performing Arts Centre. Ireka sponsored a total of 33 tickets, for its employees and their families for an evening of enjoyment.
November 2009: Ireka Corporation Berhad was a Silver Sponsor (RM2,500) for the charity dinner organised by The Kiwanis Club of Bukit Kiara, in which the total proceeds will go towards orphanages and children with development disabilities such as Down Syndrome Disorder, HIV/AIDS and Autistic Syndrome Disorder.

October 2009: Ireka Corporation Berhad made contributions to the victims of Typhoon Ketsana which hit Manila, Philippines on the 26th of September 2009, killing hundreds and leaving many homeless. As health hazards increased, there was a desperate need for medication due to the contaminated water.
